SUMMARY: The Vice President of Corporate Safety is responsible for overseeing and leading the development, implementation, and management of the company's safety programs and risk mitigation strategies. This includes identifying, assessing, and minimizing potential risks to the organization, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. The Vice President will work closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and external partners to promote a culture of safety and proactively manage safety-related issues and risks across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in safety management, risk management, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment techniques, and best practices in safety management, particularly in construction and industrial environments.
  • Proven track record of developing and leading successful safety and risk management programs in a large organization.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive a safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities in complex, high-stakes environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and discuss safety data, strategies, and policies with senior leadership, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with safety audits, incident investigations, and compliance reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certifications) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of corporate safety and risk management strategies that align with the company’s goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs and policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Identify potential risks to the company’s operations, assets, and employees, and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies to address these risks.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations across all operations, both on-site and in the office.
  • Lead investigations of safety incidents and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to operational teams on safety best practices, risk management procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company is always up to date with safety standards and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with senior management to report on safety performance, risk assessments, and improvements to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, regulatory agencies, and insurance providers to stay informed on best practices and industry developments.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement through employee engagement, awareness campaigns, and recognition programs.
  • Oversee the development and management of safety budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support safety initiatives.
  • Assist the President of BEHE with the implementation of the same bullets as outlined above.
