About The Position

If you are looking to join an agile, dynamic, and motivated team in the healthcare technology industry, Aetonix is a rising leader in “Connecting clinicians and patients through pathways of care”. Our mobile platform, aTouchAway, enables healthcare providers to reduce costs and to improve the quality of care by managing, educating, and connecting patients, care teams, and caregivers through customizable healthcare protocols, remote patient monitoring, and telehealth. Today, our platform is used by tens of thousands of patients in hundreds of hospitals, but this is just the start. Beginning as a start-up 10 years ago, Aetonix recently joined the Trudell Medical Group which will enable us to maximize the opportunity to change the face of Healthcare. Professional health care providers are able to improve patient care through the aTouchAway mobile platform for remote complex care management. We are looking for a Vice President, Product located in the Minneapolis, Minnesota, Chicago, Illinois or Florida area. This is a remote based role with periodic travel for Aetonix meetings (Ontario, Canada), conferences and clinician or patient research. Reporting to the President, you are an experienced product leader who can think and operate at a strategic level, but can also drive execution at a hands-on, tactical level. You will own Aetonix's product vision and strategy across its chronic care management platform’s “zero to one” build. You will inspire, coach and empower product and engineering teams and establish the optimal level of rigor required for patient safety, privacy and regulatory, without slowing innovation or creating bureaucratic friction. You will oversee a Product Manager (“PM” Discovery & Research), Technical PM, and Designer and aim to optimize cross-functional collaboration (from Strategy and Commercial, through to Technical and Compliance teams).

Requirements

  • 8-10 years in technology product management with 5+ years in senior product leadership roles
  • Healthcare or regulated industry experience strongly preferred: chronic care management, RPM, digital health, clinical workflows, care team roles, CCM/RPM reimbursement, value-based care models, multi-stakeholder products, regulatory navigation (FDA, HIPAA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Design, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
  • Experience shipping AI-driven healthcare products: recommendation engines, predictive models, conversational AI, adaptive systems
  • Demonstrated “zero to one” product experience from concept through launch and scale, including comfort with ambiguity, resource constraints, rapid iteration, building from scratch
  • Deep expertise in empowered product teams, continuous discovery, user interview and modernized research techniques, outcome-based roadmaps, evidence-based decision frameworks
  • Track record of measurable business outcomes through product innovation, not just shipping features
  • Experience managing product teams including product managers and designers
  • Understanding of ML lifecycle, explainability techniques, and AI safety patterns for clinical decision support
  • Knowledge of FDA AI/ML regulatory considerations for SaMD and health equity implications in model development
  • Product analytics platforms and testing/experimentation frameworks
  • Understanding of Software as a Medical Device classification and implications, including familiarity with design controls, risk management verification and validation.
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Modern web/mobile architectures (React, React Native, Node.js ecosystems)
  • RESTful API design and microservices architecture concepts
  • Database fundamentals (PostgreSQL, Redis, caching strategies)
  • Cloud infrastructure basics (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, scalability patterns)
  • CI/CD and DevOps (Git/GitHub, automated testing, deployment pipelines)
  • Testing strategies (Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Maestro or similar frameworks)
  • Security fundamentals (OWASP, OAuth/JWT, encryption, HIPAA compliance)
  • Performance optimization concepts (profiling, caching, load testing)
  • Healthcare Interoperability: FHIR, HL7 v2, CCD/CCDA awareness
  • EHR integration patterns (Epic APIs, bi-directional sync)
  • Device integration (Apple Health, Google Fit APIs, data reliability challenges

Responsibilities

  • Define the product vision, solutioning and outcomes-driven roadmap, aligned to company strategy, and clinical and commercial goals
  • Translate the vision into quarterly OKRs for product and engineering teams
  • Provide engineering teams with requirements, priorities and acceptance criteria, informing “how to build” (solutioning, architecture and implementation)
  • Work with the CTO to define scope trade-offs, technical debt prioritization and release timing
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Commercialization to ensure the product vision is competitively differentiated, commercially validated and informed by market requirements
  • Pro-actively partner with Regulatory and Privacy to define "threshold excellence" criteria for each phase, to strategically sequence the product roadmap (rather than after-the-fact compliance)
  • Collaborate with Clinical, advisory boards to ensure clinical validity and workflow fit
  • Lead “zero to one” and eventually, continuous discovery across all clinician and patient user personas anticipated to vary by segment, technical literacy, demographics, and more, to inform product requirements
  • Own the product-side of the innovation partnership, including co-design sessions with innovation partners, and synthesis of partner insights (balanced against generalized product requirements)
  • Oversee the team’s efficient execution of workflow and UX/UI design, end-user solution validation experiments (prototypes, MVPs, usability tests), technical feasibility analysis and post-market learning loops
  • Lead assumption-testing (not just needs validation) to understand workflow, integration and other solution differences between segments
  • Determine the minimum scope to ship compliantly while having validated clinical safety and regulatory compliance, and having embedded privacy-by-design into core PM processes
  • Oversee AI-driven features from rules-based automation through to predictive models, ensuring proper validation, clinical safety guardrails, explainability requirements, and human-in-the-loop controls. Define training data needs, feedback loops, and model performance criteria aligned to clinical outcomes.
  • Establish AI transparency, bias monitoring, and safety frameworks compliant with FDA AI/ML guidance for SaMD. Ensure AI features enhance (not replace) clinical judgment through appropriate confidence thresholds, override mechanisms, and audit trails
  • Oversee determination of technical product requirements, architecture, user story creation, acceptance criteria, and backlog prioritization
  • Prioritize integration planning and capabilities across phases, defining data exchange requirements (care plans, vitals, tasks, risk data, care gaps), and ensuring FHIR/HL7 implementation meets clinical workflow needs
  • Partner with the CTO on sprint planning and release management, to achieve a predictable delivery cadence with regular releases
  • Collaborate with Regulatory and Quality on design control artifacts without creating bureaucratic friction (embedded, not a separately regulatory workstream)
  • Foster an environment of data-driven and evidence-based product decision-making, rapid iteration informed by usage, and clear visibility into product health and the platform’s product-market-fit trajectory.
  • Define product success metrics aligned to business outcomes. Implement analytics infrastructure and instrumentation
  • Monitor patient adherence, patient-to-clinician ratios, clinical outcomes, patient retention and more. Establish A/B testing and experimentation framework. Conduct post-launch analysis and rapid iteration
  • Track leading indicators of product-market fit (innovation partner retention and expansion, Net Promoter Scores by persona, willingness-to-pay signals, etc.)
  • Manage, coach, and develop the PM (Discovery & Research), Technical PM, and UX-UI Designer
  • Involve engineers early and continuously in discovery. Bring engineers to user interviews, usability tests, and innovation partner sessions so they develop firsthand understanding of user problems and build conviction in what's being built
  • Provide engineers with problems to solve, not solutions to build. Define clear user problems, business context, and success metrics, and then invites engineers into solution design (so engineers understand the "why" and have autonomy to determine the "how")
  • Work with Customer Solutions and Technical Support to ensure onboarding workflows are embedded in product design, customer success feedback informs product iteration, and training requirements are considered in feature rollout planning

Benefits

  • Health insurance including medical, dental, vision and life
