About The Position

The Vice President of Product provides leadership and oversight of the creation and enhancements of MCU’s financial products and services. Establishes strategic product direction, and oversees the translation of product strategy into actionable, creative and technical elements. Responsible for creating a seamless user experience that resonates with our members and upholds the values and mission of MCU. The Vice President of Product will provide strategic direction and support related to new product enhancements of current products, market research, pricing analysis, fee structure and changes and product profitability. Will be responsible from ideation to implementation, analysis, reporting and performance. It begins with analysis of needs and opportunities both internally and externally, leading to product development and enhancement. In this role, you will be responsible for the full product development lifecycle, defining, implementing and reviewing end-to end for all our members. VP of Product will work with the development teams and be a consultant for policies and procedures developed, pricing and positioning established, and marketing materials created to ensure the final product aligns with original product. After product launch, the Vice President of Product will be responsible for tracking product performance, analysis and recommendations to enhance the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management, technology, marketing or similar required. MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven management experience in banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrated relationship management and leadership skills with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of influence and negotiation with all levels of management.
  • Strong reporting, decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, member oriented and able to proactively work independently as well as within a team.
  • Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading people and activities. Ability to motivate, direct and coach staff.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Technologically proficient.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design of new and innovative financial products and services, including product/service enhancements, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and member needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor product strategies that align with the MCU’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and apply this knowledge in creating products that serve our members effectively.
  • Manage and coordinate working with multiple Agile teams delivering product changes or builds in partnership with lead technical engineers.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to drive product feature choices and optimization. Analyzes market trends and demographic data concerning members and potential members. Research member needs and attitudes support organizational goals.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance of current product features and pricing to ensure consistent brand identity across all products and services.
  • Prepare reports and analyses on assigned products/product lines and present to Senior Leadership on a regular basis. Focus of reports/analyses may be market or competitive issues, special economic and risk factors, pricing, product strategy, profitability, etc.
  • Review product performance on a regular basis for all assigned products. Monitor development activities relating to meeting product objectives, budget, quality standards and schedule.
  • Participate in product evaluation across business lines; provide recommendations for changes and revisions as required.
  • Fosters and maintains good relationships with teammates to ensure that processes are integrated to support expected member service levels. Acts as business partner by managing expectations and providing guidance and advice regarding assigned product.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.
