About The Position

The Vice President of Personal Training (PT) is responsible for leading the strategic vision, commercial performance, and operational excellence of Equinox’s Personal Training business across all clubs. This executive will drive revenue growth, evolve the PT product offering, and elevate the coaching talent model to deliver a premium, high-performance member experience aligned with Equinox’s brand standards. The VP will serve as the principal business owner for PT, overseeing financial outcomes, product innovation, talent development, and field execution at scale.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of leadership experience in fitness, performance coaching, boutique wellness, hospitality, or high-touch client service organizations.
  • Proven success scaling Personal Training or coaching-based revenue streams across national or multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated strength as both a disciplined business operator and a people-centric culture builder.
  • Prior responsibility for multi-regional field teams and significant PT revenue ownership.
  • Builder of high-performance cultures with exceptional influence and leadership capability.
  • “Coach of coaches” with a strong track record of developing leaders who drive team excellence.
  • Data-driven, analytically rigorous decision-maker with strong financial acumen.
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Strategic thinker with operational pragmatism and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the international Personal Training revenue strategy, delivering annual budget and growth targets.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize acquisition, conversion, retention, and lifetime value within the PT business.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop pricing architecture, product tiers, and market-specific growth plans.
  • Leverage advanced analytics to forecast, monitor, and optimize PT performance and profitability at both macro and club/market levels.
  • Lead long-range planning for PT expansion aligned with new club development, geographic growth, and brand evolution.
  • Build and scale standardized PT operational systems across all clubs while supporting local market adaptability.
  • Implement centralized KPIs, real-time dashboards, performance scorecards, and productivity benchmarks.
  • Strengthen cross-functional partnerships with Operations, Training & Education, Finance, People & Culture/Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
  • Improve the end-to-end coach and member journey through integrated operational and experiential enhancements.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing PT organization, including Regional PT Leaders, Directors, and field teams.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, high accountability, and elite coaching standards.
  • Partner with People & Culture/Talent Acquisition to attract, develop, and retain top-tier coaching talent.
  • Build leadership pipelines and define clear career pathways to strengthen internal mobility and succession planning.
  • Drive PT innovation across digital-physical coaching experiences, AI-supported training insights, and premium service design.
  • Deliver next-generation PT programming that deepens personalization, engagement, and measurable member results.
  • Evaluate external industry trends and integrate best-in-class methodologies into the PT product ecosystem.
