The VP of Technical Operations is a senior executive responsible for translating the CTO’s technical vision and corporate strategy into coordinated operational execution across the technology organization. This role serves as the operational integrator of the CTO, ensuring alignment between enterprise partnerships, solution delivery, commercial business operations and growth. The Vice President is accountable to the CTO for ensuring these capabilities operate as a cohesive system that accelerates innovation, supports growth objectives, and delivers measurable business value. A critical aspect of the role is working in close partnership with the Senior Director of Innovation and Emerging Technology to drive an integrated strategic directive that aligns corporate strategy, the CTO’s technical strategy, innovation initiatives, and solution development across the enterprise. The position also plays a key role in supporting growth and delivery activities, ensuring the organization’s technical strategy, partnerships, and solution architectures strengthen delivery and competitive positioning and win probability in strategic pursuits. Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, enterprise architecture, strategy, or technology operations.
  • Demonstrated experience aligning technology innovation with enterprise business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Proven leadership managing complex technical organizations and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting large-scale bids, proposals, and strategic capture efforts, particularly in competitive markets.
  • Experience building and managing strategic technology partnerships and innovation ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of modern enterprise architectures, including cloud, AI/ML, cybersecurity, and data platforms.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale technical projects and driving innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Experience with budgeting and resource allocation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating within government contracting, federal healthcare, defense, or regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting CTO organizations, innovation centers, or emerging technology programs.
  • Background in technology commercialization, platform strategy, or solution portfolio development.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven architectures, cybersecurity frameworks, and digital modernization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting large federal or enterprise contract pursuits.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Senior Director of Innovation and Emerging Technology to ensure alignment between research, innovation initiatives, and operational solution development.
  • Establish an integrated strategic directive that connects corporate strategy, the CTO’s technical strategy, innovation programs, and market-facing solution development.
  • Drive operational pathways for transitioning emerging technologies into scalable enterprise solutions and offerings.
  • Coordinate innovation pilots, proof-of-concepts, and experimentation programs to ensure successful transition into solution architectures and delivery services.
  • Oversee the enterprise Solution Architecture organization, ensuring scalable architectures and solution frameworks aligned with the CTO’s technical strategy.
  • Establish enterprise reference architectures, standards, and reusable solution patterns.
  • Ensure alignment between architecture, innovation initiatives, and customer mission outcomes.
  • Drive development of market-ready solution offerings and technical platforms.
  • Provide executive technical leadership in business development and growth initiatives.
  • Support capture and proposal teams in shaping winning technical strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of solution architectures with customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Lead Solution Services to ensure delivery of complex, integrated technology solutions.
  • Develop repeatable implementation frameworks, accelerators, and delivery methodologies.
  • Enable services teams across cloud, AI/data, cybersecurity, and digital engineering.
  • Improve operational efficiency and scalability through standardization, automation, and service innovation.
  • Serve as the primary operational executive for the CTO Office, ensuring execution of the CTO’s technical strategy.
  • Translate strategy into executable operational plans and priorities.
  • Maintain accountability for operational performance and execution outcomes.
  • Lead development of multi-year technology strategy roadmaps aligned with enterprise growth.
  • May support commercial operations for the CTO organization, including: Technology investment governance, Innovation portfolio management, Strategic business case development, Technology commercialization frameworks. This responsibility can be introduced based on organizational need after onboarding.
