About The Position

As Vice President of Project Management at Maverick Power, you will serve as the strategic leader driving execution excellence across our portfolio of high-impact projects. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex, multi-site and million-dollar initiatives that support our rapid growth and operational expansion. The VP, Project Management will build and lead a high-performing project management organization, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and aligned with business priorities. Partnering closely with senior leadership, operations, engineering, and cross-functional teams, you will establish consistent project governance, streamline processes, and create scalable systems that enable Maverick Power to deliver innovation and results with speed, quality, and discipline

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive project management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large, complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing project management teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong expertise in project governance, risk management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PgMP, or equivalent is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in the manufacturing, energy, power distribution, or technology sectors, with a track record of leading large-scale, multi-site projects.
  • Background in high-growth organizations, with the ability to scale project management processes to support rapid expansion and evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organizations project management strategy, aligning with business growth, operational excellence, and client delivery goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership for all project management functions across Maverick Powers multi-site operations and corporate initiatives.
  • Oversee project planning, engineering coordination, procurement, and delivery of large-scale, cross-functional projects to ensure alignment with business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Establish and maintain project governance standards, methodologies, and best practices that drive consistency and accountability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with executive leadership to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively across competing priorities.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring successful completion within scope and financial targets.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies while proactively resolving issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Negotiate major project contracts, change orders, and strategic partnerships.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment by collaborating with Operations, Engineering, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and other departments.
  • Implement scalable project tracking and reporting systems to provide transparency and visibility to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for key projects, ensuring leadership engagement and stakeholder communication.
  • Champion process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, project delivery speed, and quality of outcomes.
  • Partner with business development and sales teams to support client-facing initiatives, ensuring project commitments are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and safety requirements within project execution.
  • Lead change management strategies that support successful adoption of new systems, processes, and technologies.
