About The Position

Lumenci is seeking a Vice President – Product (AI Platform & IP Intelligence) to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of a next-generation AI-driven patent intelligence platform. This role is ideal for a senior product leader with experience building or scaling AI/ML-powered products, semantic or knowledge systems, and complex workflow platforms, who is excited to transform high-value expert consulting services into a scalable, category-defining product. About Lumenci Founded in 2018, Lumenci is a premier intellectual property consulting firm specializing in patent litigation, expert witness testimony, and patent monetization for leading corporations and global law firms operating across the software, telecommunications, semiconductors, and emerging technology sectors. A key part of Lumenci’s model is the integration of deep technical expertise with litigation strategy. Our teams support high-stakes disputes by developing technical narratives, performing rigorous analysis, and partnering with world-class expert witnesses whose testimony shapes case outcomes in courts and arbitration forums worldwide. VSS’s investment in Lumenci was from VSS Structured Capital IV, L.P. (“VSS SC IV”), a $530 million fund which had its final closing in December 2022. CEP is a private equity firm headquartered in Boston, MA, that partners with companies seeking investments to support growth or fund acquisitions, partial buyouts, or recapitalization opportunities. This role may require approximately domestic travel for client meetings, internal strategy sessions, and product/market events.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, including senior leadership roles (e.g., Director, Head of Product, VP Product).
  • Demonstrated success building 0→1 products and/or scaling B2B SaaS or platform products.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML products, data platforms, or intelligent workflow systems (LLMs, semantic search, recommendations, decision support, etc.).
  • Strong execution discipline: able to move from vision to shipped product with clear priorities, trade‑offs, and timelines.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams (engineering, data, design, GTM, services) in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex AI and IP concepts to executives, attorneys, and technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in legal tech, IP, patent analytics, or litigation support.
  • Background in semantic search, knowledge systems, or information retrieval.
  • Experience working with or leading distributed global teams (US + India or similar).
  • Prior work in an AI-first or data-heavy B2B SaaS environment.
