About The Position

Gorilla Commerce is hiring a Vice President of Planning to lead its Merch Planning and Inventory Management functions across its global operations. This role owns the full planning ecosystem — from category strategy and demand forecasting to supply-buy planning and purchasing execution — ensuring Gorilla Commerce’s marketplace and retail channels are planned with precision, efficiency, and agility. Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Planning, Supply Chain, or Operations within consumer goods, retail, or eCommerce.
  • Deep experience managing global supply and demand ecosystems.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with advanced Excel expertise, including building complex models, scenario tools, and data-driven insights to support decision-making
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on approach balanced with strategic and analytical thinking

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Merch Planning team responsible for assortment strategy, demand forecasting and category financial planning across marketplaces and retail channels.
  • Own and drive the forecasting process, incorporating top-down and bottom-up methodologies, statistical models, and marketplace data signals.
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Development, Supply Chain, Growth and Finance to balance category growth, profitability, and inventory investment.
  • Manage category buy investments, new product launch plans, and lifecycle management with clear ties to financial goals.
  • Establish a structured demand review cadence that aligns business drivers with forecast updates.
  • Lead Inventory Management and Supply Planning, owning buy planning, purchasing, and partnering with sourcing on allocation across Asia-based suppliers and factories.
  • Design and execute replenishment strategies that balance service levels and working capital.
  • Collaborate closely with Sourcing and Operations to align purchasing with category priorities and promotional calendars.
  • Owns the development and governance of inventory optimization strategies, including setting MOH targets, safety stock policies, and balancing working capital with service-level goals
  • Build analytical tools and dashboards to monitor inventory efficiency, highlight risks, and drive data-based decisions across categories and channels.
  • Build and institutionalize the S&OP process connecting Commercial, Finance, and Operations into a single demand-supply-finance alignment cycle.
  • Own analytical frameworks that translate data into actionable insights, supporting forecast accuracy and inventory productivity.
  • Partner with Data Science (external) and IT/BI teams to develop advanced statistical and causal forecasting models.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews (Executive S&OP) integrating forecast, supply, and financial outcomes.
  • Create and maintain executive-level dashboards and KPIs.
