About The Position

Fortune Electrical is seeking a Vice President of Operations to provide executive leadership and operational oversight across all field and project operations for our growing team. This role serves as a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for managing the performance, structure, and scalability of the organization’s operational functions. This role requires a highly experienced commercial electrical construction leader with a proven track record of managing people, building high-performing teams, and driving accountability across a growing organization. This position operates as a direct strategic partner to the President and plays a critical role in scaling Fortune Electrical’s operations while maintaining quality, profitability, and culture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction
  • 5+ years of experience managing managers or operational teams
  • Proven track record of leading large operational teams and multiple concurrent projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing organizational performance and accountability
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead and develop people
  • Deep understanding of construction operations, scheduling, and financial controls
  • Exceptional decision-making and organizational management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Florida Electrical License preferred or ability to obtain one
  • Prior experience in an executive, director, or senior operational leadership role
  • Experience scaling operations in a growing commercial electrical contractor
  • Strong business acumen and operational leadership capability

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior operational and project leadership partner to the President
  • Oversee multiple large-scale commercial electrical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
  • Provide executive-level oversight of project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field teams
  • Review and support complex estimates, bids, and proposals
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and inspectors
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor project financial performance including labor productivity, margins, and change orders
  • Support hiring, mentoring, and development of project and field leadership
  • Establish and enforce companywide project execution standards and best practices
  • Act as senior leader in the President’s absence
