About The Position

The Vice President of Marketing is a strategic executive responsible for leading brand, marketing, communications, and storytelling efforts that support fundraising, guest experience, volunteer engagement, and overall Village awareness. This role ensures that Give Kids The World’s mission, impact, and voice are consistently and authentically represented across all channels.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to inspire, engage, and develop high-performing teams within the Marketing & Communications function and across the organization.
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to interpret data, market insights, and audience trends to develop and execute effective marketing and communications strategies.
  • Extensive experience in brand strategy, mission-centered storytelling, and digital marketing, with a proven ability to strengthen brand awareness and audience engagement.
  • Ability to balance creativity with business objectives, ensuring marketing initiatives support organizational priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into action by guiding teams to execute marketing initiatives that drive results and support organizational goals.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate opportunities, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and fiscal responsibility, including experience managing budgets and aligning marketing investments with strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategy, influence stakeholders, and represent the organization effectively.
  • Highly organized and results-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Collaborative leader who can work effectively across departments, building strong relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with executive leadership, board members, major donors, and other high-profile partners.
  • Experience with marketing and CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Sprout, and other digital marketing tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting fundraising or philanthropic initiatives through integrated marketing campaigns, storytelling, and donor engagement strategies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in marketing, communications, and leadership practices.
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must meet acceptable attendance and punctuality requirements, which are essential functions for the position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 7 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and executes an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the organization’s brand steward, ensuring consistent application of brand standards across all departments and channels.
  • Establishes and maintains brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual standards.
  • Oversee brand management, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Lead philanthropic marketing and storytelling initiatives that support Development efforts.
  • Oversee executive, board, and organizational communications, including key messaging, presentations, and crisis communications support as needed.
  • Develop and lead the organization’s crisis communication strategy, ensuring timely, transparent, and accurate messaging to protect and uphold the brand’s reputation.
  • Prepare and coach key spokespersons within the Executive Team and Board to deliver consistent, confident, and mission-aligned messaging during crises.
  • Partner with the Risk Committee and key Village staff to identify potential vulnerabilities, establish proactive communication protocols, and ensure alignment with organizational risk management strategies.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive crisis communication plan, including internal and external communication procedures, media response guidelines, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Monitor emerging issues and proactively manage potential reputational risks, leveraging social listening and media monitoring tools.
  • Translate the Village’s mission, impact, and family stories into compelling narratives.
  • Ensure storytelling is ethical, dignified, and aligned with organizational values.
  • Oversee content creation across digital, print, social media, and multimedia platforms.
  • Lead audience segmentation strategies for donors, families, volunteers, partners, and storytellers.
  • Oversee digital ecosystem performance including website, email, social, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Partner with Development to support fundraising campaigns through integrated marketing strategies, while Development retains ownership of revenue outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Guest Services, Volunteer Services, HR, and Operations to support Village-wide initiatives.
  • Provide marketing guidance and tools to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Marketing & Communications team members.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, annual reviews, and performance evaluations to measure progress and provide feedback.
  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability metrics; ensuring marketing projects are delivered on time, on brand, and on budget.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that is mission-focused culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and excellence in execution.
  • Foster creativity, innovation, and accountability.
  • Track brand health, audience engagement, campaign performance, and storytelling reach using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
  • Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership and board as appropriate.
  • Track and analyzes marketing performance metrics.
  • Use data insights to refine strategies and demonstrate ROI.
  • Continuously improve effectiveness and efficiency of marketing efforts.
