About The Position

Under the supervision of the College President, the Vice-President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) will oversee the College's strategic and annual planning processes design and implement institutional assessment, collects, analyzes and interpret data and communicates results to college constituents, accountability reporting and accreditation activities. The VPIA is responsible for fundraising, policy development and legislative relations at local, tribal, state and national levels. The individual is also responsible for special events and public relations. VPIA will oversee the Development Office, Dine Policy Institute, Office Institutional Planning and Reporting, Office Legislative Affairs, and Marketing Department. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in education, business or related field. 2-3 years experience in fundraising, planning, accreditation relations, and budget management in higher education.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education Accreditation.
  • Knowledge of Local, Tribal, State, Federal Guidelines and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of institution's procurement process and procedures.
  • Knowledge of best practices in assessment and evaluations in higher education.
  • Knowledge of Navajo culture.
  • Must maintain organization skills.
  • Must possess skills in accounting.
  • Skill in public speaking and presenting presentations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills within the department and institution oral and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to demonstrate quantitative and qualitative research, design, data and analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to utilize up-to-date technology in various software, micro-soft applications, and multimedia presentation.
  • Must be able to speak and understand Navajo language but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in education, business administration. 3-5 years experience in leadership and accreditation relations and budget management in higher education field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the continuous development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the College's strategic plan by which measures improvement and holds itself accountable to stake holders.
  • Create and implement the College's development master plan and strategy for legislative initiatives, fundraising, and federal, state, and local grant solicitation and procurement processes. Cultivate relationships with current and potential corporate and foundation sponsors, including Alumni Development. Establish short- and long-range goals for restricted and nonrestricted funding sources. Work with College leadership to develop special projects and events.
  • Supervises Development Office, Dine Policy Institute, Office of Institutional Planning and Reporting, Office of Legislative Affairs and Marketing Department.
  • Guide the College's efforts to satisfy requirements of the Higher Learning Commission, including the preparation for and follow-up to, reaffirming of accreditation. Design data collection instruments and assists with conducting surveys institutional wide.
  • Maintain a comprehensive institutional assessment and evaluation clearing house and report on college strategic and annual planning. Performs other duties as assigned.
