About The Position

Phoebe Ministries Allentown is a community dedicated to enriching the lives of its residents. The Vice President of Institutional Advancement & Marketing holds executive accountability for all philanthropy, marketing, brand, and communications functions. This role involves leading the organization's comprehensive fundraising strategy, including major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, annual giving, and capital campaigns. Additionally, the VP oversees organizational marketing across all campuses and audiences, encompassing census support, advertising, digital presence, publications, and public relations. The VP ensures that philanthropic priorities align with strategic and capital plans, that the case for support is compelling and donor-centered, and that marketing and advancement efforts are fully aligned to advance the mission.

Requirements

  • The ability to deliver excellent customer service to all residents, families, and coworkers
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive advancement experience
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated success personally closing major gifts of $100,000 or more
  • Proven experience leading or managing a comprehensive capital campaign of $5M or more
  • Experience overseeing marketing, communications, or brand strategy as part of an integrated advancement function
  • Deep familiarity with AFP standards, moves management methodology, and planned giving vehicles including Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge or comparable donor CRM
  • Track record of successful board engagement and executive alignment with fundraising strategy

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field preferred
  • CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential preferred
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or faith-based nonprofit sector preferred
