About The Position

The Vice President of Advancement is a senior leader responsible for advancing Guadalupe Centers’ philanthropic growth through comprehensive fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and revenue development. Creating an environment for strong relationships that lead to financial investment into the organization. This role leads all aspects of fund development while overseeing the daily operations and performance of the marketing team, ensuring brand, marketing, and communications efforts are effectively executed as strategic tools to amplify visibility, deepen relationships, and drive sustained investment in the organization’s mission across Guadalupe Centers and its schools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or related fields required.
  • Demonstrated success in major gifts, donor cultivation, and revenue growth strategies required.
  • Experience leading integrated teams that include development and communications functions.
  • Proven ability to build, secure, and sustain high-value donor relationships.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using CRM systems and fundraising analytics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow revenue through major gifts, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and donor programs.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporations, and public sector partners.
  • Oversee and expand donor engagement initiatives ensuring strong retention and long-term relationship growth.
  • Design and implement donor recognition, stewardship, and engagement strategies that deepen philanthropic investment.
  • Drive a culture of philanthropy across the organization, engaging key stakeholders, aligning leadership and staff around fundraising priorities and outcomes.
  • Utilize data, CRM systems, and performance metrics to monitor progress, forecast revenue, and inform strategy.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of donors.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify and advance strategic funding opportunities.
  • Align brand, messaging, and communications strategies to directly support fundraising and donor engagement efforts.
  • Ensure consistent storytelling that clearly articulates impact, outcomes, and organizational value to donors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee integrated marketing efforts (digital, social, email, and media relations) with a focus on visibility and philanthropic growth.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day marketing operations, ensuring effective execution, workflow management, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Strengthen media presence and public relations to enhance credibility and awareness among key audiences.
  • Build and protect the Guadalupe Centers brand as a driver of trust and investment.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability structures, and performance expectations aligned with revenue and engagement outcomes.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Oversee donor databases, reporting systems, and fundraising infrastructure to ensure operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align development and communication strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on philanthropic strategy and external positioning.
  • Support cross-functional alignment to ensure programs and outcomes are effectively translated into funding opportunities.
