Another Source is partnering with Central Oregon Community College (COCC) to recruit a Vice President for Finance and Operations (VPFO), a key executive leadership role based in Bend, Oregon. About the Role Open due to retirement, this role reports directly to the President, serving as the College’s Chief Financial and Operations Officer, providing strategic, innovative, and systems-oriented leadership across finance and operations. This is a highly visible role responsible for advancing the College’s financial sustainability, operational excellence, and long-range planning in alignment with institutional priorities. The VPFO oversees Fiscal Services, Campus Services, Bookstore/Auxiliary Services, Procurement, Contracts, Risk Management, and Project Management, leading a division of 4 direct reports and approximately 87 FTE. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 7+ years of senior-level leadership experience in multi-fund financial management
  • 7+ years leading fiscally sustainable budget and operational strategies
  • Candidates must reside in Oregon at the time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President and Senior Leadership Team
  • Lead collegewide planning efforts that enhance operational efficiency and stakeholder experience
  • Build strong relationships across the institution and with community, business, and government partners
  • Represent the College externally and support Board engagement and governance
  • Serve as the College’s chief financial officer, leading budget development, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Ensure accurate, transparent financial reporting to the President, Board, and regulatory agencies
  • Guide long-term financial sustainability, including capital planning, bond opportunities, and alternative revenue strategies
  • Oversee procurement, contracting, and risk management functions
  • Provide strategic oversight of facilities, infrastructure, sustainability, and campus services
  • Lead facilities master planning and long-range infrastructure development
  • Oversee auxiliary operations including bookstore and related services
  • Strengthen systems, processes, and cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency and accountability
  • Develop and lead a high-performing, collaborative division
