The VP of Business Development will lead the Business Development organization, with responsibility for driving profitable growth through sales channels across American Integrity’s new and existing territories and supporting key sales initiatives. This role will oversee Key Account Coordinators and Inside Sales, with a primary focus on maximizing new and existing distribution through proactive agency engagement, account development, and strategic growth initiatives. Reporting to the EVP of Sales and Marketing, the VP of Business Development will develop and execute strategies and tactics that exceed top- and bottom-line objectives. This leader will collaborate across the executive team to ensure the Business Development team is equipped with the tools, processes, and support needed to succeed. The role is responsible for strengthening existing agency relationships, developing and activating high-quality new opportunities, and ensuring effective coordination between Business Development, Field Sales, and National and Strategic Accounts, as well as internal partners, including Product, Pricing, Underwriting, IT, and Marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.); or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 (Seven) to 10 (Ten) years of Business Development experience in Property and Casualty Insurance required.
  • 5 (Firve) to 7 (Seven) years of sales or business development management experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • CIC or CPCU designation preferred.
  • Experience leading inside sales or account coordination teams strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the Business Development team, including Inside Sales Representatives and Key Account Coordinators, supporting multi-state distribution and ongoing geographic expansion.
  • Works closely with the EVP of Sales and Marketing to develop and implement strategies and tactics to meet and exceed top- and bottom-line plans.
  • Manages overall agency compensation including base commissions, Diamond/Gold agency plans, agency performance plans, and individual agency incentives.
  • Builds a high-performance business development culture focused on profitable growth, relationship expansion, and disciplined execution.
  • Works closely with IT team to ensure API connections are operational and maximizing our quotes to bind.
  • Oversees development of the Business Development team through coaching, training, motivation, and performance management.
  • Participates in the development of annual incentive plans for Business Development roles in partnership with the EVP of Sales and Marketing.
  • Supports the Business Development team in penetrating existing agency relationships and activating new, productive distribution partners.
  • Establishes structured annual planning processes with key agencies, including short-term tactics and measurable financial goals.
  • Ensures a consistent flow of marketplace intel and agency feedback to Sales, Marketing, Product, Pricing, and Underwriting teams.
  • Leverages Zoom and other digital engagement tools to increase product awareness, training participation, and agency connectivity. Ensures that monthly and quarterly calls to key national and strategic accounts are timely and effective.
  • Partners closely with VP of Sales and VP of National Accounts to ensure seamless coordination between Business Development, Outside Sales, and National Sales teams.
  • Ensures accurate, timely reporting across the Business Development team, including activity tracking, call quality, follow-ups, and pipeline management in Salesforce.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships throughout the company to support efficient execution and alignment.
  • Works closely with the SVP of Marketing to enhance communication strategies, campaigns, and product awareness with the agency base.
