About The Position

The Vice President of Architecture & Engineering is responsible for leading the architecture strategy and engineering execution of the organization’s technology foundation as the business scales significantly over the next five to seven years. As a key member of the technology leadership team, this role is accountable for architectural integrity, engineering excellence, and delivery outcomes across core digital and enterprise platforms. The successful candidate will design, build, and govern foundational capabilities supporting enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, modern e-commerce, and AI-enabled platforms. This role ensures that technology solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with the company’s long-term growth strategy and operational maturity objectives. This role is designed for a senior technology leader operating one level below enterprise-wide technology ownership, with scope, influence, and accountability expected to expand as the company continues to scale.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in technology, with at least 5 years at the Director+ or VICE PRESIDENT level leading engineering or architecture functions.
  • Experience leading engineering organizations through major ERP or core platform replacements.
  • Deep expertise in cloud architecture, with a preference for Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience leading distributed engineering teams in global, multi-country environments.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale technology transformations.
  • Strong command of modern engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, and agile at scale.
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (FDA, GDPR, CCPA, or equivalent).
  • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical strategies to C-suite and non-technical leaders.
  • Demonstrated ownership of engineering budgets and vendor relationships, including delivery and platform investment tradeoffs.
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong influencing and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to scale scope, influence, and operating maturity as organizational complexity increases.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Develop and retain a high-performing team; provide mentorship and clear growth paths across roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in direct sales, network marketing, or consumer wellness industries.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms such as BigCommerce, Salesforce, or SAP/Oracle/Microsoft/Infor ERP or CRM solutions.
  • Experience with AI/ML platform design using Microsoft tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Advanced degree in related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the enterprise architecture roadmap aligned to the company’s growth strategy, spanning applications, data, integration, and application security architecture.
  • Establish architecture governance frameworks, standards, and review processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and security across technology investments.
  • Lead technology evaluation and due diligence for major platform decisions, including ERP and CRM systems critical to operational maturity.
  • Provide architectural oversight and decision recommendations for significant programs, ensuring designs align to agreed enterprise standards, cloud-native principles, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Partner with the CIO to translate enterprise technology strategy into executable architecture and engineering roadmaps for stakeholders.
  • Maintain a 3–5-year architecture and engineering roadmap and translate it into actionable annual investment plans with measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead and inspire a global engineering organization encompassing application development, platform engineering, and quality assurance.
  • Own engineering execution within a product-managed IT operating model, partnering with Product Management to ensure clear accountability, predictable delivery, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Build and mature software engineering practices to support the transition to a product-managed IT organization.
  • Oversee engineering delivery for ERP and CRM platform implementations as foundational enterprise systems, collaborating closely with business and program leadership.
  • Champion engineering velocity, reliability, and quality by establishing delivery metrics, SLOs, and accountability structures appropriate for a scaling organization.
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar engineering budget, vendor contracts, and delivery-related investment tradeoffs with a focus on value delivery.
  • Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team with clear growth paths across specialist and leadership roles.
  • Partner with the Head of AI to enable production-grade AI capabilities leveraging Microsoft Azure AI services to drive business value.
  • Ensure AI initiatives progress from experimentation to scalable, production-grade solutions integrated into core business platforms.
  • Leverage AI to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness across Architecture & Engineering teams.
  • Partner with data and analytics leadership to ensure the Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environment is architected for scale, performance, and self-service.
  • Evaluate and enable emerging technologies aligned to approved business priorities, with emphasis on scalable solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Establish repeatable, responsible AI deployment patterns and governance guardrails suitable for a regulated global business.
  • Stay current with industry developments in cloud, AI/ML, and enterprise platforms and bring relevant insights to executive decision-making.
  • Ensure architectural decisions proactively reduce regulatory, security, and operational risk as the company scales globally.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership to ensure all architectures are designed with security-by-default principles.
  • Ensure architectural designs and platform implementations support FDA regulatory requirements and applicable international equivalents.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to embed regulatory controls into platform and system designs, particularly across e-commerce, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), and financial systems (PCI-DSS).
