About The Position

The Vice President of IAM Engineering at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in New York, NY is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and management of Northwestern Mutual's Identity and Access Management (IAM) infrastructure and team. Engage staff, leadership, and business partners in organizational change to mature and sustain information risk for enterprise. Act as a liaison between IAM and business units for strategy, development, and implementation of best risk management approaches and practices in business context. Anticipate complex business issues that impact IAM, IT and effectiveness of enterprise identity and access management. Deploy complex IAM resources in support of IT department and business area needs. Evaluate and prioritize risk in new and existing systems from both a business and a technology perspective. Demonstrate organizational agility and political savvy to effectively influence enterprise buy-in to address risk areas often avoided. Oversee and direct design of information risk communication and leverages deep understanding of company culture and risk tolerance to influence positive change across enterprise. Select and prioritize IAM projects (corporate and IT), as well as oversee IAM budget management and long-range planning. Collaborate with IT leadership and business leaders to minimize risks, develop action plans, and prioritize resources. Responsible for identity and access management strategy and program development. Approve identity and access management designs, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with IS standards, overall IS strategies, and protecting security of enterprise IT environment. Act as Secretary to Information Risk Executive Council (VP-level committee) providing corporate oversight of enterprise identity and access management. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Salary $239,200- $330,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5 years of experience as a software developer, system engineer, or related occupation
  • 5 years with IT security management
  • 5 years with information systems or systems audits
  • 5 years with planning, organizing and managing the activities of others as direct reports and project teams
  • 5 years with Agile methodologies and DevOps environment
  • 5 years with stakeholder management
