About The Position

We are searching for a full-time Vice President of Advancement who will be responsible for leading the organization’s advancement programs and building a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization. The Vice President of Advancement provides the vision and strategy for the fundraising, marketing, and communications activities for the Mary Wade campus. The successful candidate will contribute to closing Mary Wade’s first comprehensive capital campaign and leading the stewardship and acquisition efforts to build on the campaign’s success. Salary Range: $135,000.00 to $145,000.00 Schedule: 40 hours per week Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity. Chatham Place is the Assisted Living / Memory Care Community that is part of Mary Wade. The community includes 84 units, a combination of one bedroom and studio apartments. 20 units are Memory Care and the rest are traditional Assisted Living. We have a bistro, a salon/spa, a fitness center and a rooftop terrace! Our Skilled Nursing Unit consists of 94 bed long-term care, short-term rehabilitation. We have an Adult Day Center and Residential Care Home. At Mary Wade you will experience a high quality professional culture focused on resident needs. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing development.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, families, donors, and administration.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and effectively communicates the mission of the organization.
  • Fosters close interaction and teamwork among the development and marketing team and the rest of the organization.
  • Develop numerous efficient and compelling opportunities for donors to give support; makes those experiences satisfying and rewarding for the donors.
  • Designs, implements and manages all fundraising activities including annual giving, endowment and capital campaigns, special projects and other organizational solicitations.
  • Designs, implements, and manages all strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations.
  • Supervises and provides direction and guidance to marketing and development team.
  • Maintains contact with and develops grant proposals for foundations and corporations.
  • Coordinates development and distribution of an Annual Report/Honor Roll of Donors.
  • Develops and implements family and program based fundraising programs within the Annual Fund.
  • Develops a comprehensive planned-giving program.
  • Regularly visit prospects and prospective donors to strengthen relationships and discover new development opportunities.
  • Supervises and oversees the work of the department staff and ensures that policies and procedures are in place in accordance with best practice.
  • Develops and maintains strong positive community relations with the neighborhood.
  • Represents Mary Wade during community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings. Works with the Development Committee of the Board of Managers and CEO to develop strategies to initiate and meet all fundraising and marketing goals.
  • Creates office systems to support all Development projects and operations.
  • Oversees the management and maintenance of the donor database and maintains a database for continued contact with families/former families.
  • Supports family and donor relationships by attending Advisory Council meetings and family council meetings.
  • Ability to be responsible for Advancement and Development department and managing employees.
