The VP – Lending position is responsible for growth of a loan portfolio with strong asset quality by using sound underwriting practices and conforming to bank policy and regulatory guidelines. This position will maintain a presence in the community through volunteer activities while actively promoting all bank products and services to fulfill customers’ banking needs.

Requirements

  • College degree (or equivalent work experience) required with emphasis in finance / business preferred.
  • Completion of consumer and commercial lending school required.
  • 3 years of lending experience required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate courteously and professionally in English (both written and oral) with customers and team members.
  • Must have a good understanding of debt to income, debit coverage ratio, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and complex tax returns.
  • Should be knowledgeable of all types of collateral, valuation of collateral, financial analysis and spreading of business financials, and global underwriting of large borrowers.
  • Basic understanding of collateral such as real estate and equipment.
  • Must project friendly, courteous, and professional image at all times.
  • Effective listening skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Sound reasoning and judgment skills with the ability to problem solve and make proper decisions.
  • Requires strong sales experience and the ability to handle high stress situations.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as promote the team concept in everyday actions.
  • Ability to utilize all necessary software applications as well as Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal communication skills to effectively relate to all levels of the bank staff and customers.
  • Must possess general knowledge of all banking services in order to match the needs of the customer with the best suited bank products/services.
  • Able to sit or stand for an extended period of time
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Use of fine motor skills

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a sense of urgency to provide the finest customer service at all times and in all forms of verbal and written communication.
  • Grow current loan portfolio and customer base by adding new clients and maintaining a small to medium pipeline of new business while maintaining strong asset quality.
  • Understand the Bank’s Loan Policy Manual and stay current with changes.
  • Make timely and sound loan decision; keep charge-offs at a minimum level.
  • Work closely with Loan Coordinator and the lending team.
  • Work past dues, understand and clear technical exceptions, and work renewals in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present loans to the Executive Loan and Directors’ Loan Committee.
  • Recognize cross-sell opportunities outside of own product specialty and refer to correct Banker to fulfill all of customer’s banking needs.
  • Understand involvement in the community and being to produce business and recognition through good community work.
  • Perform all other tasks requested as they relate to the Bank and its functions.
  • All team members are accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations and adherence to established internal controls and procedures when performing their job duties.
  • Each team member is expected to be familiar with the legal and regulatory requirements and internal controls affecting his or her job responsibilities.

  • Team members must participate in required training on pertinent compliance laws and regulations as required by Signature Bank of Arkansas.
  • All team members will be committed to maintaining a high level of compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering, USA PATRIOT Act and Financial Recordkeeping regulations recognizing that all three acts are important tools in federal efforts to combat organized crime, terrorism and drug trafficking.
