About The Position

The Vice President, Legal serves as the chief legal officer for Time Manufacturing and its global operating companies. This role provides strategic legal leadership across all aspects of the business, ensuring legal compliance, managing risk, and enabling growth through practical, business-oriented legal guidance. The VP, Legal is a trusted advisor to the executive team, and Board, balancing legal rigor with commercial realities in a manufacturing and industrial environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 12+ years of progressive legal experience, including senior leadership roles
  • Proven experience supporting M&A, complex commercial transactions, and corporate governance
  • Strong business acumen with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance
  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and discretion
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills across all organizational levels
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineered products environments strongly preferred
  • Experience working with private equity-backed or highly growth-oriented organizations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary legal advisor to the executive leadership team, and Board of Directors
  • Support corporate governance, Board meetings, committees, and executive decision-making
  • Advise on enterprise risk management, regulatory exposure, and strategic initiatives
  • Help shape company strategy by proactively identifying legal risks and opportunities
  • Lead legal support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and integrations
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, distribution, licensing, and service agreements
  • Provide guidance on corporate structure, subsidiary management, and intercompany agreements
  • Oversee compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations affecting manufacturing, distribution, and sales
  • Advise on product liability, warranty, safety, and quality matters
  • Support compliance related to environmental, health, safety (EHS), and export controls
  • Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and training initiatives
  • Manage all litigation, claims, and disputes, including product liability, employment, commercial, and regulatory matters
  • Oversee outside counsel to ensure effective representation, cost control, and alignment with business objectives
  • Develop dispute prevention strategies and early resolution approaches
  • Provide legal guidance on employment matters including employee relations, compensation, benefits, executive agreements, and terminations
  • Support HR leadership on compliance with federal, state, and international employment laws
  • Advise on labor relations, investigations, and workplace policies
  • Oversee protection and enforcement of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and licensing
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to protect innovation and competitive advantage
  • Build, lead, and develop an effective in-house legal function aligned with company growth
  • Manage legal budgets, outside counsel spending, and legal operations efficiency
  • Establish best practices, templates, and processes to support scalable growth
