Genworth’s Information Technology organization is on a transformational journey to become a leading enterprise technology function — one that drives innovation, enables business agility, and delivers scalable, resilient, and customer-centric solutions. At this pivotal moment, Genworth is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as Vice President of Information Technology Infrastructure and Operations, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. This Vice President will be responsible for designing, modernizing, implementing, and managing Genworth’s enterprise-wide infrastructure and operations platforms. The role encompasses oversight of data center, cloud, network, and foundational systems, with a focus on ensuring scalability, security, and resilience across all environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure, lead cross-functional teams, and drive operational excellence while supporting enterprise wide transformation across Genworth’s diverse portfolio.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in IT infrastructure, including cloud, data center and network architecture.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives in regulated a regulated industry, aligning infrastructure strategy with enterprise business goals and technology vision.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Expertise with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data center consolidation, and cloud migration.
  • Strong experience with data center networks, WAN/SDWAN, wireless and remote secure network access platforms and firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of holistic technology solutions, IT processes and best practices, including technology maintenance and monitoring; service-level agreements (SLAs); incident response, including security incidents; project portfolio management; disaster recovery planning and testing; CAPEX budgeting; application and equipment life cycles; and change management.
  • Deep technical expertise in building scalable, distributed systems using modern technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to travel as necessary (~monthly).

Nice To Haves

  • Financial services or insurance industry experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale, multi-year data center modernization strategy.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCIE, Azure/AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategy, architecture, and delivery of Genworth’s infrastructure platforms, including data center, cloud, network, and core systems.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional IT teams ensuring alignment with organizational goals through effective mentorship and resource management.
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture grounded in collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability within the platform engineering organization.
  • Partner across business functions to understand strategic needs and ensure infrastructure capabilities enable desired outcomes.
  • Champion continuous improvement, implementing best practices and streamlined engineering processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and innovation.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of IT systems and services through proactive monitoring, incident response, and ongoing optimization.
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers, ensuring value delivery, performance, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Security O/icer and security teams to implement infrastructure-level security controls and respond to emerging threats.
