We’re seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking VP, Information Security to lead our enterprise-wide Information Security Program and champion the protection of our members, data, and systems. This influential leader will bring deep expertise, a proactive mindset, and a passion for building strong, resilient security practices that support our organization’s strategic goals. You’ll serve as the organization’s subject matter expert; guiding our security posture, anticipating emerging threats, and strengthening the controls, culture, and technologies that keep our members safe. You will lead the Information Security Analyst and collaborate across all business units to ensure security is not just a function, but a shared value. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in information security or information risk management
  • Strong project management capabilities and the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and influencing across the organization

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3–5 years in a financial institution strongly preferred
  • Proven experience in security architecture, system design, IT controls, and enterprise-level risk management

Responsibilities

  • Lead as the board-appointed Information Security Officer, stewarding the organization’s Information Security Program.
  • Update, maintain, and report on the Information Security Program annually to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Conduct and refine information security risk assessments, evaluating inherent and residual risks to guide strong decision-making.
  • Stay ahead of evolving regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging threats affecting financial institutions.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs to crewmembers, volunteers, and members, fostering an informed and security-conscious culture.
  • Oversee and validate information security monitoring, configurations, and workflows using modern security tools.
  • Establish and enforce strong measures to prevent cybercrime and ensure adherence to laws, contracts, and policies.
  • Provide expert consultation, analysis, and reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure the protection of crewmembers, members, assets, records, and confidential/proprietary information.
  • Evaluate locations, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for enhanced security controls.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including documentation, case building, communication, and loss assessment.
  • Oversee vendor security reviews and govern access rights, including DNA/System access authorization and auditing.
  • Architect and manage defensive security technologies such as: Vulnerability scanning tools Enterprise-scale firewalls & SIEM IDS architectures Application security frameworks Forensics and investigative capabilities
  • Guide internal controls and compliance efforts to ensure the organization meets all security obligations.
  • Lead and develop your team, setting strategic goals and coaching for continued excellence.
