About The Position

The Vice President of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real World Evidence (RWE) will serve as a strategic leader, advancing Crinetics’ mission to improve the lives of patients with rare endocrine diseases. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, this role will define and execute a global HEOR and RWE strategy that integrates advanced analytics, digital health, and patient-centric evidence approaches across the product lifecycle. The VP will drive U.S. market access priorities while shaping global evidence frameworks to support optimal reimbursement and value recognition. The VP will oversee the design and delivery of high-impact real-world studies and health economic models, leveraging multi-source data to demonstrate the clinical, humanistic, and economic value of Crinetics’ portfolio, including therapies for Acromegaly, Cushing’s disease, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, and other endocrine disorders. In addition to leading the HEOR and RWE function, the VP will partner with internal stakeholders and external experts to align evidence generation with clinical development, commercialization, and payer engagement strategies worldwide.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH, MS) in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in HEOR, RWE. and market access in a global biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare research settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-country HEOR/RWE strategies and programs supporting market access, advanced analytics, and digital health initiatives; rare disease or specialty medicine experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering impactful real-world studies and economic models, influencing global regulatory and payer decision-making through innovative RWE.
  • Experience supporting evidence needs for ICER and/or international HTAs (e.g., NICE, CADTH) preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills; able to engage executive leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. payer landscape, reimbursement dynamics, and value-based decision frameworks.
  • Familiarity with real-world datasets and data analytics tools (e.g., SAS, R, STATA); strong scientific publications and conference presentation history preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and operationalize a global HEOR and RWE strategy, embedding advanced real-world data science, digital health, and AI-driven analytics across the product lifecycle to accelerate evidence generation and value demonstration.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary subject matter expert, principal thought leader, and spokesperson on HEOR and RWE, including payer evidence needs, health outcomes trends, and value demonstration strategies.
  • Set the enterprise-wide vision for RWE, including multi-country, multi-source data acquisition strategies including data from insurance claims, electronic health records, patient registries, digital devices, patient apps, and social determinants of health.
  • Oversee external non-employee resources, vendors, and partners to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing global RWE and HEOR leadership team, fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
  • Manage external research partners, consultants, CROs, and data vendors to ensure delivery of innovative, high-quality work.
  • Lead enterprise-wide training programs on RWE best practices, digital health, and advanced analytics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the design and execution of HEOR and RWE across U.S. and global markets, ensuring alignment with regulatory, payer, and clinical priorities. This includes:
  • Observational and non-interventional studies leveraging diverse real-world data sources.
  • Integrated analyses of insurance claims and electronic health record (EHR), and patient registries.
  • Advanced economic modeling and linked data evaluations for therapies targeting Acromegaly, Cushing’s disease, and related conditions.
  • Burden-of-illness, treatment pattern, and cost-effectiveness assessments to inform value demonstration.
  • Development and implementation of patient-reported outcomes strategies, including digital health-enabled data capture.
  • Drive innovation in evidence generation, incorporating AI-driven analytics, machine learning, and advanced statistical methodologies to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Provide strategic direction for payer negotiations and formulary submissions, ensuring evidence packages meet evolving U.S. and international requirements.
  • Lead development of global value dossiers and submissions, integrating RWE and health economic modeling to support pricing and reimbursement strategies across major markets.
  • Lead creation of value communication materials and payer evidence strategies, integrating RWE and advanced health economic modeling.
  • Shape global market access strategies using RWE to inform payer negotiations, formulary positioning, coverage policies, and interactions with research arms of payer organizations.
  • Provide strategic guidance on payer and international HTA bodies (e.g., NICE, CADTH) to influence evidence requirements and policy frameworks as applicable.
  • Drive alignment across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to ensure evidence generation aligns with lifecycle goals and clinical strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure evidence generation aligns with lifecycle goals and clinical strategy.
  • Inform clinical trial design to support long-term outcomes and value demonstration.
  • Cultivate relationships with payers, academic partners, HEOR research organizations, and key opinion leaders to advance evidence standards and adoption.
  • Represent the Company at scientific conferences, payer advisory boards, and global forums, positioning the organization as a leader in RWE innovation.
  • Publish and present breakthrough RWE research in peer-reviewed journals and top-tier scientific meetings.
  • Oversee budgets for global RWE initiatives, ensuring optimal resource allocations, timelines, and prioritization decisions.
  • Ensure adherence with global regulatory standards and compliance standards governing HEOR and RWE research and communication.
  • Lead functional planning, including budgeting, resource management, and strategic decision-making to ensure operational excellence across RWE activities.
