About The Position

Responsible for all aspects of both hospitals' financial decision support, cost accounting and revenue integrity functions. Develops policies and provides direction related to financial services. Assists the CFO in establishing direction of the financial services function. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
  • 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years in a leadership role (with Bachelor’s degree)
  • 14 years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years in a leadership role (with High School Diploma/GED)

  • Master's degree in a related field of study.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative direction; interprets policies; interprets billing and CMS regulations, and assists in planning, coordinating, and maintaining interdisciplinary services.
  • Serves as the revenue guardian, which includes financial services surrounding revenue integrity, including Medicaid cost reports and reimbursement analysis, monthly collection rate projection and analysis for the Financial Statements accrual, and statistics used in financial key metrics and reporting. Responsible for process improvement related to revenue integrity.
  • Develops annual revenue budgets and long-range planning budgets; responsible for the quarterly forecasting of revenue and collections for the system.
  • Serves as the liaison between the Hospitals and UAMS, MCPG, and ACMG regarding physician-billing services.
  • Assists in the development and facilitation of data governance related to financial services.
  • Responsible for the Annual Funds Flow budget between hospitals and the UAMS College of Medicine, and contract development and updates.
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Decision Support System.
  • Develops financial proformas for new strategic endeavors as well as analytical review post follow-up.
  • Effectively identifies the negative consequences of each course of action/alternative; considers the full scope of possible implications; understands the big picture of the institution and demonstrates the ability to see all sides of a problem.
  • Is responsible for the modeling and financial projections of payor contracts for the system.
