About The Position

SourceAmerica is seeking a Vice President, Finance, who provides leadership in all major areas of finance and accounting. This position is a member of the organization’s leadership team reporting to the General Counsel and Senior Vice President Administration. This position provides strategic planning and analysis to forecast the organization’s financial health as well as how the company tracks and reports results. This position leads a team responsible for cash management including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, procurement, and other analytical and planning functions. On an on-going basis, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). There are approximately 500 NPAs in the SourceAmerica nonprofit network that provide products or services through the AbilityOne Program and approximately 36,000 AbilityOne employees are in the SourceAmerica nonprofit network. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant field of study from an accredited institution instead of applicable skills training.
  • 20+ years of accounting or corporate financial management experience including strong understanding and ability to apply GAAP and other FASB regulatory and advisory board recommendations
  • 10+ years of directly managing a team of accounting or financial professionals in a corporate or not-for-profit environment
  • Strong understanding with contemporary accounting principles issued by Financial Accounting Services Board (FASB), other regulatory and advisory organizations
  • Expert user of financial and accounting software/systems. SourceAmerica uses Microsoft Dynamics (D365) as its primary accounting and ERP system
  • Significant proficiency with Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Proficient user experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. SourceAmerica uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 as its business application system.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading skills

  • Capable of working independently and solving problems under time pressure
  • This is generally a no travel position, though a few trips at most may present themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a large team of accounting, financial and administrative professionals
  • Evaluates the finance team structure and plan for continued improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group, as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth
  • Holds team accountable for assigning deliverables with appropriate detail, timelines, and expectations
  • Develops financial strategies that meet financial health goals and warns of threats to the organization in our alliances, contracts, funding streams, etc.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure processes are efficient and utilize technology and systems adequately
  • Oversees and manages the procurement process to ensure proper controls and procedures are in place and effective
  • Oversees all aspects of facilities operations.
  • Enhances, develops, and implements financial policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization
  • Plans and implements the organization’s fiscal function and performance to include stewardship over corporate assets. Develops financial strategies on issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances and contracts
  • Works hand-in-hand with other members of leadership to provide pertinent data to the Board on a regular basis
  • Ensures adequate and comprehensive controls are in place and functioning to minimize the risk of loss of corporate assets
  • Oversees and manages the audit process and ensures compliance with acceptable financial accounting standards
  • Collaborates with other financial leaders at nonprofit agencies (NPAs) in the AbilityOne network sharing and implementing best practices
