About The Position

The Vice President Finance will report directly to the CFO. The VP Finance should be experienced in all aspects of corporate accounting, manufacturing accounting, financial reporting, audit procedures, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Your Role in Our Company: As the Vice President of Finance, you will lead all financial functions of Culta, overseeing the accounting, reporting, compliance, and cost control activities for our Cultivation and Manufacturing entity. Your initial focus will be on this entity, but expectation is you will eventually manage our retail entity as well as our real estate and equipment entity ensuring GAAP compliance across cultivation, manufacturing, and retail operations. This role serves as a strategic finance partner to senior leadership and facility management, driving operational efficiency, margin improvement, and financial discipline.

  • The VP Finance should be experienced in all aspects of corporate accounting, manufacturing accounting, financial reporting, audit procedures, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership & Oversight: Lead and manage the finance and accounting functions across three (3) entities.
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, consolidations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist FP&A with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis activities.
  • Lead external audit and tax preparation and liaison with auditors and tax accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and evolving regulatory standards, including GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 740.
  • Weekly Cash forecast (13 week cash flow)

  • Cost Accounting & Inventory Management: Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, and reconciliation for cultivation and manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with operations teams to analyze manufacturing and cultivation performance, including labor, overhead, and material cost variances.
  • Maintain and improve standard cost models, analyzing actual vs. budget/forecast variances to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support strategic decision-making with detailed cost-benefit, breakeven, and operational analyses.
  • Strategic Planning & Analytics: Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial models to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
  • Provide actionable insights into performance drivers, cost-saving opportunities, and capital planning.
  • Serve as a key advisor on financial implications of business development, expansion, and investment opportunities.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team of four (4) with one (1) direct report.
  • Provide clear direction, performance feedback, and professional development plans.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage staffing needs, employee performance, evaluations, and scheduling.
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
