We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, ESG Regulatory Programs to join our Sustainability Hub. The Vice President will operate as a core driver and manager across disclosure production, regulatory implementation, and cross-functional governance – bridging day-to-day execution with strategic oversight. This role is located in New York. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: In the end-to-end production of climate and/or other ESG regulatory disclosures across group and legal entities, ensuring alignment with BNY policies, controls, and procedures. Drive enterprise-wide implementation of ESG regulatory requirements (e.g., California obligations, CSRD, ISSB) and centrally coordinate legal entity-level ESG regulatory implementation. Develop and maintain an entity-by-entity disclosure inventory and requirements traceability matrix, while enhancing documentation protocols, including evidence retention and change management. Partner cross-functionally to scope ESG regulatory requirements and embed them across the three lines of defense. Run enterprise/legal entity governance routines: steering meetings, issue/risk logs, decision memos, and escalation paths to Controllership and Risk committees; prepare board/committee materials where required. Monitor evolving regulatory regimes and supervisory expectations, conduct impact assessments and gap analyses specific to legal entities and drive implementation roadmaps to closure. Produce management-ready documentation: requirements traceability, control walkthroughs, testing results, remediation plans, and attestation packages for regulatory filings and audits Support matrixed reviews for enterprise-level and legal-entity disclosures: drive consistency of language, appropriate disclosure levels, and heightened sensitivity to regulatory and cross-market considerations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in financial services with exposure to climate policy and disclosures, sustainability, compliance, risk/control functions, or related field; bachelor’s degree required
  • Hands-on experience driving regulatory implementations and/or reporting is a must
  • Strong understanding of ESG reporting standards and disclosure requirements, including familiary in regulatory regimes and voluntary frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISSB)
  • Proven success in cross-functional, matrixed project management —balancing speed, accuracy, and stakeholder alignment under regulatory timelines
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear, decision-ready materials for senior stakeholders; adept at guiding peers and partners through evolving requirements
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong time management, and a solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Technical/quantitative proficiency excel word power point
