About The Position

The Vice President, Controller of Comoto Holdings is responsible for leading Accounting, Accounts Payable, Internal, and External Reporting. Comoto Holdings is America’s largest and fastest growing omni-channel platform in the motorsports industry (e.g. helmets, airbags, jackets, parts, etc); dedicated to advancing the experience of moto enthusiasts across the globe. Comoto’s brands: Revzilla, Common Tread, Cycle Gear, REVER, and J&P Cyclces, deliver premium products, dedicated expertise, engaging media, and passionate customer support to the rider community, through best-in-class ecommerce and retail experiences. This position will report directly to the CFO and require significant cross-functional collaboration across FP&A and all areas of the company. We are looking for a team-oriented leader who will dive into the details while also remaining focused on the company’s strategic direction. The Vice President, Controller will design new processes and enhance existing ones, implement scalable processes to support the company's growth, and drive continuous improvement. They are a strong leader with extensive experience developing, mentoring, and growing a large team. You will be leading a department of ~30 team members.

Requirements

  • CPA License Required.
  • eCommerce and/or Retail industry experience
  • 5+ years experience in a Director role or previous experience as a Controller
  • Ability to lead, manage, and grow a high-performing team
  • Previous public accounting experience, preferably for a Big 4 or large national accounting firm.
  • Superior quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong judgment, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written skills - ability to write explanations to financial statements, footnotes, and audit memos.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA preferred.

  • Experience moving manual processes to automated processes
  • Prior experience in JD Edwards
  • Motorcycle ownership/riding experience (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Own the daily management of the financial systems which include oversight of accounting, assets, liabilities, equity, inventory, fixed assets, opex, expense reimbursement and reporting.
  • Review the work of the Accounting team, ensure reconciliations are properly completed and work to close monthly financials in a timely manner.
  • Create the year end financials including footnotes.
  • Lead external audits and other external reporting requests.
  • Evaluate accounting system effectiveness, make recommendations, and work with IT to implement solutions.
  • Improve internal controls by identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • Lead the oversight and maintenance of the Company's banking structure, payment process, and credit card program.
  • Continual review of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
