About The Position

At Vitra, we believe in the power of design to shape inspiring environments. We are currently seeking a motivated and design-savvy Vice President, Contract Sales to join our contract sales team.This is a high-impact leadership role suited for a seasoned sales professional who combines strategic insight with a passion for design, a deep understanding of the architecture & design ecosystem, and a proven ability to drive business. Based in our New York showroom, you will oversee and evolve Vitra’s contract sales strategy and strengthen our market presence. As a member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Vitra’s growth trajectory and brand positioning in North America.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, ideally in the design or furniture industry.
  • Strong network within the A&D community and experience working with leading design firms.
  • Appreciation for design and confidence in engaging with design professionals.
  • Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills across all levels of seniority.
  • Experience in leading sales teams.
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, with interest in new tools and digital platforms.
  • Proactive and accountable approach, with a passion for delivering results.
  • Preference for in-person collaboration, with remote work as an exception.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Vitra with passion and purpose, inspiring the A&D and dealer communities through storytelling about our heritage, values, and products.
  • Build and grow relationships across the design industry, focusing on key client accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Activate the design community by organizing and participating in industry events.
  • Use our physical spaces in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco for client engagement, hosting meetings and showcasing Vitra’s design philosophy.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities in Salesforce to support forecasting and reporting.
  • Contribute fresh, strategic ideas that help differentiate Vitra and deliver added value to clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with global Vitra teams to align strategies and share insights across markets.
