About The Position

An immediate vacancy for a qualified Test Pilot (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) at our test centre in Hamburg Finkenwerder. You will operate in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, working closely with experts from many teams across Airbus Commercial Aircraft. As a test pilot, you will be responsible for preparing and executing production test and customer acceptance flights. You can also expect to conduct technical flight tests on in-service aircraft such as maintenance check flights and tests of corporate jet conversions. Please note that a screening event, including simulator session and assessment center, is planned beginning June (week 23). Sounds interesting for you? Then apply and take off with us! What can you expect? To conduct production test activities (ground and flight), and to conduct acceptance flights with customers, as Captain or First Officer. Occasionally, and according to the privileges of your qualifications, conduct development and research test flights; certification flights; demonstration flights and training flights. You will be required to perform flight test manoeuvres safely and accurately, whilst recognising and recovering from dangerous flight conditions in time-critical situations. To take responsibility for the safety and efficiency of each flight, as Pilot in Command or First Officer. To conduct and/or participate in detailed briefings and debriefings for flight and ground testing activities. To prepare and/or review the required test reports after each assigned test flight or ground activity. To be proactive in identifying and reporting product safety, certification and in-service efficiency issues. To act as internal ‘first customer’ to ensure product safety and quality before entry into service or aircraft delivery. To support marketing and sales campaigns and other customer support activities as designated. To use effective communication skills to present the results of your testing. To conduct specific additional duties in the Flight and Integration Test Centre as allocated. Examples are planning, scheduling of crews, safety management and flight crew representation. Please note that this position is based in Hamburg but that missions to Toulouse or other Airbus Flight Test bases are required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognised flight test training school
  • EASA ATPL (A), Class 1 Medical, and Flight Test Rating (Category 1 or Category 2). Candidates whose qualifications are held with a non-EASA authority will be required to obtain EASA qualifications prior to employment.
  • Previous experience in a civilian or military flight test organisation or department
  • English (negotiation level)
  • Significant experience on multi crew transport category aircraft including command

Nice To Haves

  • Type Rating on an Airbus aircraft type (i.e. A320, A330/350, A340, or A380)
  • Operational experience in the airline environment
  • German language (beginner/intermediate)
  • French language (beginner/intermediate)
