About The Position

Newton Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinary technician with advanced emergency and ICU skills to join our overnight team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician, preferably a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), who is confident working in emergency settings and providing advanced patient care overnight. At Newton Veterinary Hospital, we are a full-service small animal emergency and general practice hospital. Since 2001, we’ve been providing the highest level of care for our patients. Our facility includes diagnostic equipment such as in-house laboratory services, digital radiography, dental radiography, LigaSure, and ultrasound. Requirements

  • Experienced veterinary technician (CVT/RVT preferred but not required based on experience)
  • Strong emergency, ICU, and anesthesia knowledge
  • Comfort working independently as a technician during overnight shifts with the support of present DVM
  • Experience in emergency or specialty settings preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
  • Physical ability to lift and restrain animals safely

Responsibilities

  • Support ICU and critical care patients
  • Administer advanced treatments and monitor hospitalized cases
  • Assist with emergency procedures and advanced ER surgeries (including GDV and abdominal emergencies)
  • Work confidently in a fast-paced emergency environment
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and strong clinical support to the team
