Vet Technician, Credentialed
About The Position
Emergency Veterinary Services is a well-equipped small animal emergency hospital located in Lisle, IL. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality emergency care to pets when they need it most. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys teamwork, and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care. Both credentialed and non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply. Emergency experience is not required, but candidates should feel confident in their technical abilities and eager to continue learning. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a supportive and fun team while gaining valuable emergency medicine experience.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience required
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Compassion for both patients and clients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Dependable with strong teamwork skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays
Nice To Haves
- CVT or credentialed technician preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Monitor and provide treatments for hospitalized patients
- Perform in-house laboratory testing
- Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia during procedures
- Place IV catheters and perform blood draws
- Take and position radiographs
- Safely restrain patients for procedures and exams
- Provide client communication and education
- Communicate with referring veterinarians as needed
- Assist with occasional reception duties
- Maintain hospital cleanliness and organization
- Support the team with additional duties as assigned
