Position Details Role: Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician Status: Full-time Salary: $22 - $30 per hour based on experience and licensure Schedule: M-F w/ rotating Saturdays. This position is for a room tech, meaning that the primary responsibility of the technician would be assisting our veterinarians with appointments and outpatient procedures. There is opportunity to advance to a surgical assistant, but this will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Responsibilities

• Appointment intake and assisting veterinarians with exams
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Knowledge of standard and fear-free restraint of dogs and cats
• Performing in-house laboratory tests (ELISA tests, CBC/Chemistries, urinalysis, blood smear preparation and interpretation, cytology preparation and interpretation)
• Outpatient procedures such as administration of subcutaneous fluids, administration and understanding of various injectable and oral medications, anal gland expression, nail trims, and performing radiographs
• Knowledge of and ability to administer vaccines
• Communicating with clients about patient care and home instructions
• Using an electronic medical record program (AVImark) to input charges, fill prescriptions, and document patient assessments accordingly
• Acting as a phone liaison between veterinarians and clients to answer medical questions, provide lab results, and help schedule surgeries.
• Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness
