About The Position

Veterinary Technician Training Coordinator The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician Training Coordinator to join our dedicated team! This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with a primary base at our Papago Park Campus, though flexibility to travel between all three of our campuses is essential. If you're passionate about developing veterinary professionals and making a meaningful impact on animal care in our community, we'd love to hear from you! As the Veterinary Technician Training Coordinator, you'll play a key role in developing and supporting our veterinary technicians through comprehensive onboarding, hands-on training, and skills validation. Working closely with medical leadership, you'll lead clinical training sessions, coach new and promoted technicians, and ensure consistency with AHS standards in patient care, anesthesia, and surgical support. You'll also coordinate onboarding schedules, assess progress, update training materials, and provide feedback to strengthen performance and program effectiveness-all while helping advance our mission to save animal lives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 3+ years of clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Expertise in clinical procedures, laboratory and diagnostics, patient care, and animal handling
  • Demonstrated ability to provide feedback and guidance to others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptability in teaching methods for different learning styles
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills to organize and track a number of vet techs and their progress.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening to be compliant with DEA requirements for dispensing controlled drugs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred
  • Previous experience as an AHS Veterinary Technician II is preferred
  • CVT certification is a plus

Responsibilities
