About The Position

VCA Colonial Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor for our busy Surgery/Anesthesia Department . This is a working supervisor role working within the dept while having administrative time to develop the service and team. We are a hybrid animal hospital and proud to be one of the premier providers of primary, specialty and emergency care located in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York. We are passionate about the training, growth and development of all our associates. With multiple specialty departments available you will have the opportunity to learn from the best! Our 18 doctor hospital serves our clients 24/7/365. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing advanced care and management of patients in a specialty setting. We offer our supervisors monthly training on leadership , human resources , empathy , burnout and compassion fatigue . We also work as a collaborative unit providing you the connectivity of 10 additional specialty hospital supervisor teams to grow, learn, and share information with. Requirements

Candidates must be positive and motivated.
You’ve worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Anesthesia and Surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

Full Technician Skill Utilization
Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
Coaching associates based on need to aid in their success
Facilitate communication of ideas, policies, standards and performance
Provide feedback related to associate performance, and collaborate with leadership to develop performance improvement plans
Support associates in their career via VTNE guidance, licensure guidance, and scheduling
Maintain skill efficiency and knowledge
