We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Department. The ideal candidate is compassionate, humble and honest. You will utilize your skills and learn new and advanced techniques while working with a team that functions with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. In addition to exemplary specialty and emergency medicine, we maintain a collaborative and collegial working environment that supports continued growth and learning at our hospital at all levels. At BluePearl Olympia, you will join a group of veterinary professionals that support and encourage each other. Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm Pay LVT I: $29-$36 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential Why BluePearl? Our passion is pets. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Participate in client communication
  • Accurately keep medical records
  • Perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Perform enteral and parenteral medication administration
  • Formulate anesthetic protocols tailored to individual patient needs
  • Accurately calculate drug dosages
  • Setup, use and maintain anesthetic equipment
  • Perform anesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery
  • Interpret physiologic parameters, troubleshoot anesthetic complications and make appropriate interventions
  • Utilize advanced anesthesia skills such as: mechanical ventilation, ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, epidural injections, setup and monitoring of CRIs, placing arterial catheters and performing direct pressure monitoring
  • Use hands-free techniques to perform digital radiographs
  • Perform advanced imaging such as CT scans
  • Provide both basic and advanced life support during a CPR event
  • Mentor and train other associates and externs
