BluePearl Pet Hospital in Olympia is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery department Are you an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician looking to take the next step in your career? Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
Responsibilities
- Participate in client communication
- Accurately keep medical records
- Perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Perform enteral and parenteral medication administration
- Formulate anesthetic protocols tailored to individual patient needs
- Accurately calculate drug dosages
- Setup, use and maintain anesthetic equipment
- Perform anesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery
- Interpret physiologic parameters, troubleshoot anesthetic complications and make appropriate interventions
- Utilize advanced anesthesia skills such as: mechanical ventilation, ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, epidural injections, setup and monitoring of CRIs, placing arterial catheters and performing direct pressure monitoring
- Use hands-free techniques to perform digital radiographs
- Perform advanced imaging such as CT scans
- Provide both basic and advanced life support during a CPR event
- Mentor and train other associates and externs
