About The Position

VCA Hillsboro Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to oversee clinic operations and lead a team of Veterinary Technicians and Assistants. VCA Hillsboro Animal Hospital is a 3-doctor full-service veterinary hospital in Coconut Creek, Florida, offering primary care, illness care, surgery, and dentistry. The supervisor is expected to be a role model, demonstrating expertise in high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care. This role involves working alongside Veterinarians, the Hospital Manager, and Assistant Manager to provide mentorship, ensure efficient hospital operations, and foster a positive work environment. VCA Animal Hospitals is a large community of over 800 hospitals across the US, providing primary, emergency, and specialty care, and is committed to supporting the personal career development of its technicians and assistants in an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

Credentialed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT
5+ years of clinical experience
Team leadership experience
Passion for Veterinary Medicine
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

Credentialing preferred
FL CVT Preferred

Responsibilities

Directing work flow on the floor
Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
Conduct staff meetings
Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
Mentoring technicians within the department
Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
Refining and implementing protocols
Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff
Oversee clinic operations and lead our team of Veterinary Technicians, and Veterinary Assistants
Provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment
