About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. LVT Pay: $25.60 - $49.15 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential Are you committed and passionate about enriching lives through remarkable care for pets? As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

Responsibilities

Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
Additional job duties as assigned.
