About The Position

VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician for our Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Team! Diagnostic Imaging Service: Our Diagnostic Imaging Team works with all services to provide the most advanced care possible for every patient utilizing the newest diagnostic equipment and therapeutic techniques. We offer a number of diagnostic imaging services, including radiographs (x-rays), ultrasound, CT scans and MRI. Our Team is comprised of Board-Certified Radiologist, Registered Technicians, MRI/CT Technologist, and Veterinary Assistants. Skills that our Imaging Technicians utilize, but are not limited to: Diagnostic Imaging: Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in capturing radiographs and other diagnostic images. Venipuncture and IVC Placement: Proficiently perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement. Client Education: Provide clear and concise discharge instructions to clients, ensuring they understand the care their furry family member requires after leaving the hospital. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including patient history, treatment details, and client communication. Assist with the completion of cost estimates. Anesthesia and Sedation Monitoring: Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia to ensure patient safety and patient recovery. Laboratory Procedures: Run diagnostics (i.e: CBC, Chem Panel, NOVA, iSTAT, UA), correlate results with the clinical presentation of the patient and notify Veterinarian of results. Team Collaboration: Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care. Maintain open communication with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, VTS
  • 2 + years of Anesthesia experience
  • Interested in learning CT, ultrasound, or MRI
