BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician! Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system. As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will: Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. Utilize their ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein. Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understands normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal. Able to set up intravenous fluids. Administers subcutaneous fluids. Can operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically. Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload. Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc). Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia Set up for MRI and CT procedures. Discharge and intake surgery patients to and from the hospital, including basic client education. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values Perform call backs and refill medications Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the clinician Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
