About The Position

Join The VCA Vet Tech Academy! Is your dream to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician? Are you interested in online learning but feel like you need some extra guidance to stay on track? The VCA Vet Tech Academy is seeking eager Veterinary Technician Students to support through the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program. This is a full-time, paid position. The VVTA provides education and training that will supplement, enhance, and reinforce the education you receive in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program. In addition to your school curriculum, you will learn and practice skills that complement your education. You will be welcomed to the team as an associate, enjoy all the benefits of being a part of the VCA team, and gain the confidence needed to excel in your career as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician. Requirements

  • Good at problem solving
  • Able to adapt to ever changing situations
  • Commitment and determination to complete the Penn Foster Veterinary Technology Program
  • Ability to overcome difficult obstacles
  • Previous experience working with animals preferred
  • Minimum of 20 hours working in or observing at an animal hospital preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with the public in a professional and respectful way
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher throughout the program
  • After completing the program and passing of the VTNE, you will be required to serve 3 years of service as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician with VCA Animal Hospitals.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with animals preferred
  • Minimum of 20 hours working in or observing at an animal hospital preferred
