About The Position

The Surgery Clinical Supervisor will work with the management team to focus on high quality, comprehensive and effective medical services to ensure the optimal client and patient experience. They will oversee and manage the surgical teams as well as being a part of the hospital management team. Tasks for managing these teams include scheduling, training, and hiring. This role is 75% technical and 25% administrative.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited AVMA program or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in Veterinary Anesthesia.
  • CVT, LVT, or VTS certification preferred.
  • Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids and CRI's
  • Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures completed, supplies used and anesthetic records
  • Understanding and review of medical records pertinent to patient care.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring is required
  • Ability to lead a high-volume, fast-paced department where your leadership, organizational skills, and ability to keep a team aligned and motivated will directly impact success.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration among team members.
  • Coordinate staffing to meet client needs and budgetary goals.
  • Streamline operations and enhance service delivery without compromising care or hospitality.
  • Mentor and develop staff, ensuring they have the training and support they need to succeed.
  • Serve as a central resource for all departments, offering guidance and support whenever needed.
  • Maintain equipment and service needs to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Perform anesthetic monitoring including intubation/extubating of patients, monitoring patients, and troubleshooting machines
  • Obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
  • Accurately take and process multiple types of radiographs throughout the pre and post operative process
  • Perform sterile scrub and assist doctors throughout surgical procedures including abdominal explores, cruciate repairs, fracture repairs, thoracotomies and both laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgeries.
  • Knowledge of normal patient vitals for awake, sedated and anesthetized patients
