About The Position

Faulkner Animal Hospital in Lancaster, South Carolina is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative (CSR) with prior veterinary or healthcare customer service experience to join our busy, compassionate small animal practice. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a confident, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary or medical environment, can manage high call volume, and balances efficiency with empathy and accuracy. If you’ve worked in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, medical office, dental practice, or healthcare setting and enjoy being the welcoming face of a practice, we’d love to meet you. Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, medical office, dental office, or healthcare customer service role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, client-facing environment
  • Strong multitasking, organization, and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort with computers, scheduling software, and electronic medical records
  • Professional, calm, and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to lift up to 30–50 pounds when needed

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or Client Service Representative
  • Familiarity with veterinary practice management software
  • Experience handling estimates, invoices, and medical documentation
  • Confidence managing difficult or emotional conversations

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally
  • Answer multi-line phones and manage high call volumes
  • Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently
  • Collect and document patient histories and client information
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians and technicians regarding patient flow
  • Support clients during routine visits, urgent situations, and end-of-life appointments with compassion
  • Process invoices and collect payments accurately
  • Balance daily transactions and maintain financial accuracy
  • Manage prescription refill requests and retail sales
  • Maintain accurate medical records within the practice management system
  • Keep reception and lobby areas organized and welcoming
  • Coordinate closely with veterinary technicians and doctors
  • Assist with appointment flow, admissions, and discharges
  • Uphold hospital policies and high client service standards
