About The Position

North Reading Veterinary Clinic is an established, full-service, small animal hospital located in North Reading, Massachusetts. We see dogs and cats Mondays through Saturdays. Our staff provides services such as comprehensive medical care, digital radiography, routine and orthopedic surgical care, dental prophylaxis with radiography, mass removals, ultrasounds, in-house lab work/diagnostics, and more. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education. Located off the Ipswich River, just outside of Boston, North Reading, Massachusetts has a lot to offer visitors and residents alike. Ipswich River Park is a stunning 49-acre site including a conservation area, restored wetlands, walking paths, sports fields and courts, playgrounds, and more. Requirements

  • Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred
  • Saturday rotation is required
  • knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Highly organized and possess computer skills
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
  • Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital’s needs

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of veterinary practice operations, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory control
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise office staff; conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA regulations
  • Oversee financial operations, including payroll, budgeting, and vendor relationships
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper use of veterinary terminology
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing pet owners' questions and resolving complaints promptly
  • Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure efficient patient care and emergency response
  • Implement marketing strategies to attract new clients and engage with the local veterinary community
  • Manage inventory, including controlled drugs, to maintain adequate stock levels and cost-effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned by veterinary regional manager
