About The Position

The Veterinary Nursing Staff Supervisor will be an integral member of the team, working with their manager and doctors to provide high quality nursing care and develop the nursing team with the services. This role works closely with their manager in a collaborative relationship. Primary duties include leading and mentoring the daily operations of nursing staff as well as development of the skill and knowledge base of the team. This position acts as a working supervisor, providing oversight while working alongside their team. They will actively participate in the screening and selection of new team members and provide onboarding and training for the staff alongside their manager. They will also provide regular feedback to the nursing staff through performance evaluations and mentoring. Supervisor position will oversee the following groups: Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology o https://smallanimal.vethospital.ufl.edu/clinical-services/oncology/ Candidates must possess a strong knowledge and experience in veterinary nursing care. The ideal candidate is an excellent verbal and written communicator, highly self-motivated, and able to prioritize well. The candidate will strive to promote teamwork through strong leadership skills. The services receive Monday-Friday and this role may require working earlier than 8:00am or later than 5:00pm. This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. A post-offer education verification, background check, and health assessment are required.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Candidates must possess a strong knowledge and experience in veterinary nursing care.
  • The ideal candidate is an excellent verbal and written communicator, highly self-motivated, and able to prioritize well.
  • The candidate will strive to promote teamwork through strong leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred
  • Supervisory/Leadership Experience
