This is a specialty-focused, non-entry-level role designed for technicians who thrive in dermatology diagnostics, client education, and long-term case management . You’ll work alongside board-certified dermatologists and specialty clinicians , supporting patients with chronic skin conditions, allergies, and immune-mediated disease . Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in: General practice, specialty, or high-volume veterinary setting
  • Strong background in: Patient care and clinical nursing skills
  • Experience with: Sample collection and lab handling
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

Nice To Haves

  • RVT / LVT / CVT credentials (highly valued, not required)
  • Prior experience in: Dermatology or allergy-heavy caseloads
  • Strong cytology skills and diagnostic familiarity
  • Experience with client education and long-term case management

Responsibilities

  • Assist with dermatology exams and patient assessments
  • Support care for patients with: Chronic allergies (atopic dermatitis), Otitis (ear infections), Skin infections (bacterial and fungal), Autoimmune and immune-mediated skin conditions
  • Provide ongoing support for long-term dermatology cases
  • Perform and assist with: Skin scrapings, Cytology (ear and skin), Fungal cultures and diagnostic sampling
  • Prepare and handle samples for accurate diagnostic results
  • Assist with allergy testing and related procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Assist with: Medicated baths and topical therapies, Minor dermatologic procedures
  • Support sedation/anesthesia for dermatology procedures when needed
  • Educate clients on: Chronic condition management, Medication administration, At-home care and treatment compliance
  • Reinforce treatment plans and ensure client understanding
  • Build long-term relationships with clients managing chronic conditions
  • Maintain accurate, detailed medical records
  • Ensure proper documentation of diagnostics and treatment plans
  • Maintain dermatology equipment and exam rooms
  • Support an organized and efficient workflow
