About The Position

1st Pet Veterinary Centers is seeking a Veterinary Clinical Applications & Workflow Specialist to support the systems and workflows our hospital teams rely on every day to care for pets and their families. 1st Pet Veterinary Centers is an employee-owned (ESOP) Emergency, Specialty, and Primary Care practice with multiple locations across Arizona. In this role, you will help ensure our clinical teams have the tools, workflows, and support they need to provide exceptional patient care. You will support several core systems used across our hospitals, helping teams troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and feel confident using the technology that supports patient care. This position focuses on clinical application support, workflow guidance, training, and structured helpdesk intake for systems that directly impact hospital operations. This is not a traditional IT support role. This position focuses on: Supporting clinical and operational software systems Troubleshooting workflow and user process issues Training hospital staff and improving system adoption This role does not include: Hardware repair Desktop support Network administration Printer troubleshooting Candidates whose experience is primarily in IT helpdesk, desktop support, or infrastructure may not find this role to be a good fit. About This Role As a Veterinary Clinical Applications & Workflow Specialist at 1st Pet Veterinary Centers, you will help ensure the systems and workflows our teams rely on — including Provet, SmartFlow, PetsApp, and Vocera — are working effectively across our hospitals. You will serve as the primary point of contact for application-related questions and support requests, helping hospital teams troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and build confidence using our clinical platforms. You will work closely with hospital teams, leadership, and vendors to ensure our systems remain reliable, consistent, and aligned with how our hospitals deliver care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping teams use systems more effectively in real-world clinical workflows — not just fixing technical issues. Your work helps ensure our veterinary teams can focus on what matters most — providing exceptional care for pets and their families.

Requirements

  • Have experience supporting clinical, veterinary, or multi-location application systems
  • Enjoy troubleshooting workflow and configuration issues through research, testing, and problem solving
  • Are comfortable managing multiple support requests while maintaining strong organization and follow-through
  • Communicate clearly with both clinical and non-technical staff
  • Can create clear documentation and training materials that help others succeed

Nice To Haves

  • Provet administration experience or administration of another veterinary practice management system
  • Experience with SmartFlow, PetsApp, or similar clinical workflow platforms
  • Experience working in veterinary medicine, healthcare, or clinical operations environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary support contact for clinical and operational application and workflow issues within 1st Pet systems
  • Receive, triage, document, and resolve application-related support requests using established tracking processes
  • Troubleshoot workflow, configuration, permissions, and user-related issues through investigation, testing, and problem solving
  • Research platform behavior and test configuration adjustments in safe environments before implementing solutions
  • Coordinate with vendors for issue escalation and track cases through resolution
  • Maintain consistent application configuration and user access standards across hospital locations
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, help documentation, and training materials
  • Provide onboarding support and refresher training for hospital teams to improve system adoption
  • Identify recurring issues or workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Assist with periodic reviews of vendor-managed systems such as Vocera to ensure alignment with operational needs
