About The Position

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) proudly opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. Thoughtful amenities—including feline-only waiting areas, a rehab unit, comfort rooms, and a serene zen garden—reflect our commitment to exceptional care for pets and their families. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Cardiology Technician to join our cardiology team. You will assist veterinarians with exams and procedures, handle lab work and medications, manage client interactions, and help maintain a clean, organized workspace. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, familiar with canine and feline care, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Cardiology Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care and supporting veterinary medical teams. Responsibilities include assisting with patient needs such as hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and physical therapy, as well as performing treatments and documenting observations accurately. Proficient in patient restraint, test setup, nursing care, triage, and discharge procedures. Experienced in transporting patients, preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, conducting basic in-house laboratory tests, and maintaining laboratory and surgical areas. Strong communicator, collaborating with doctors and technicians to ensure high-quality patient care, following hospital protocols, and delivering exceptional client support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an Approved Veterinary Assistant program with an AVA certification.
  • Two years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of veterinary experience
  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide for the patient’s needs such as cleanliness, nutrition, necessary and appropriate bedding, physical therapy, exercise, comfort and support.
  • Perform required treatments and record observations legibly in medical records.
  • Assist in patient restraint, test set up, nursing care and triage/discharge of patients.
  • Transport patients to and from the in hospital wards to the pre and post-surgical areas.
  • Assist with cleaning surgical equipment, packing/sterilizing instruments as well as surgical suites.
  • Performance of basic in house laboratory tests, completion of forms for laboratory, filing lab reports and clean- up of laboratory area.
  • Monitor daily husbandry activities of in-hospital patients.
  • Communicate with doctors and technicians regarding patient status or concerns.
  • Provide after care for patients and clients.
  • Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns and complaints.
  • Document legibly and keep accurate medical records in accordance to hospital policy.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • Assist doctors in appointment (loading rooms, restraining)
  • Assist with bloodwork, echocardiograms, chest taps, physical exams
  • Assist during surgery procedures (setting up the tables, assisting doctors and technicians, learning the equipment required, maintaining, cleaning and sterilizing the equipment, etc.)
