About The Position

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic is seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants to join their practice in Central Point, Oregon. The clinic has been serving Central Point and surrounding communities since 2009. This is a unique opportunity to join a hospital that is starting fresh with a renewed focus on team medicine, high-quality patient care, and utilizing staff to their full potential. The ideal candidate is passionate about veterinary medicine and wants to help shape the culture and workflow of a hospital relaunch.

Requirements

Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical setting required
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
Passion for working with animals and their owners
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
Adaptable to new ways of working with current medical team and doctors

Responsibilities

Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
Perform basic exam procedures
Skilled in venipuncture/blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assisting, post-operative care and recovery
Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); automated in-house machines
Excellent client communication/education
